Special Museum Programs for Schools

An invitation to the education community from Air Classics Museum of Aviation

Air Classics would like to invite the education community to review the services we offer and become acquainted with the facilities and programs available for both public and private schools as well as other youth organizations. Air Classics Museum is located at Aurora Municipal Airport (see map) which is conveniently located off or I-88. Visitors will have the opportunity to view carefully restored vintage aircraft and an interesting array of historical aviation artifacts (see the collection. Students will also have the opportunity to not only view but to actually sit in some of the aircraft such as the museum's A-7E Corsair II.

Air Classics Museum of Aviation is a non-for profit organization dedicated to "preserving the dream" of aviation for generations to come. Air Classics also seeks to stimulate an interest in our nation's aviation history. The museum is committed to chronicling the critical role of military and civil aviation in history. Last year thousands of individuals took advantage of Air Classics organized educational tours or attended our free open houses.

As a community service Air Classics Volunteers are offering a video presentation to the public and private schools in the area. This video explores the recent recovery of an F-4F Wildcat aircraft from the bottom of Lake Michigan and the restoration of the aircraft by Museum volunteers prior to placing it on display in O'Hare Airport Terminal 2. We would like to invite you to investigate all that Air Classics has to offer your students and faculty members by scheduling a complimentary lectures and by making arrangements today to place Air Classics on your list of field trip destinations. Our guides will help make your visit to Air Classics entertaining, educational and memorable!
